Oxytocin album cover by Don Piano — Oxytocin, debut album

Don Piano started because everything stopped. With stages closed in 2020, John Wolter began writing songs of his own: modern R&B and Neo-Soul with Punk nerve and psychedelia, combining his vast influences into a new sonic identity.

The debut album "OXYTOCIN" takes its name from the hormone released during intimacy. Its songs move through love, loneliness, closeness and making peace with your own demons.

Don Piano's music might best be described as dark and melancholic, without ever losing its sense of self-irony.

John Wolter

I started at 14, baptised by punk rock in my first band, All The Way Down. Everything since has come back to self-expression, which is why writing my own songs, playing the kit and singing at the same time, was never really a decision.

After playing countless shows with my first band, I studied at the Conservatoire de Luxembourg, and took a Bachelor of Arts in Jazz Drums at the Conservatorium Maastricht.

Next to my passion for the drums, I've always loved the world of producing, creating beats, shows, live arrangements, and most recently, Sample Packs to fuel the creativity of other musicians out there.
